This year, Detroit Lions Draft is happy to produce a consensus big board for each position.
These are collaborative ratings from founder/editor Jeff Risdon (@JeffRisdon) and lead scout Darren Page (@DarrenPage15).
We begin with the quarterbacks!
Some general notes:
In cases of ties, the player with the highest individual ranking wins. The exception here is the dead heat between Brett Smith and Jimmy Garoppolo at #6. Smith prevails because I know Darren grades Smith higher than I grade Garoppolo even though their aggregate ranking score is the same.
The biggest discrepancy was over LSU’s Zach Mettenberger. Darren ranks him at #4, while Jeff rated him 17th.
Other large gaps came on David Fales, Tom Savage, Aaron Murray and A.J. McCarron.
We agreed on three prospects: Teddy Bridgewater as #1, Jeff Mathews at #9 and Logan Thomas at #11
Keith Wenning is the last prospect to receive a draftable grade, and is a fine candidate for Mr. Irrelevant
